Liz Stewart, Curator of Archaeology and the Historic Environment at the Museum of Liverpool, will join us to explore the stories associated with the Malpas, Knutsford and Poole Hoards of Roman coins and jewellery. Such finds are shrouded in mysteries: how was such wealth attained? why were the items buried? and why were they never recovered? This talk explores some possible connections to the wider Roman archaeology of the region.
