Entrance Hall display case
A mini-exhibition featuring artwork by Cheshire school children.
Our Learning Team used their working partnerships with older people and young children to facilitate a cross-generational art project.
Local primary school children received descriptions of older people in day centres, including hobbies, interests and what they did before retirement. The children created portraits of what they thought the older person would look like. These creations were then sent back to the people in the day centres, along with self-portraits and letters from the children.
Before creating their works of art, the year 1 and 2 pupils learned about the rich history of portraiture by looking at works from the Grosvenor Museum’s art collection.
