Silver Rainbows in partnership with Weaver Hall Museum presents a celebration and exploration of LGBT+ history in Cheshire.
The exhibition features: the Cheshire connection to the 18th century lesbian diarist Anne Lister (the subject of BBC-HBO’s 2019 historical TV drama series Gentleman Jack); the lesbian salons of the 1920s and 1930s; the Cabinet of Curiosities of Lesbian Influences (70s and 80s); and the premiere showing of Cheshire’s LGBT+ History Quilt.
Silver Rainbows is a social network for older lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people in Cheshire. They celebrate and seek to improve the lives of older LGBT+ people through social activities, exhibitions, and projects, including developing a record of the history of the community from the post-war years. Please see the Silver Rainbows website for details of events and activities that you can get involved in.
