Ron Stephens’ line and wash drawings of the interesting buildings in and around Northwich capture the strong visual identity of the area, which reflects the district’s enduring links to the salt and chemical industries.
Ron worked as a designer, creative director and design consultant before a visit to the Visual Arts Cheshire gallery prompted him to take up painting again after 30 years. Since then he has exhibited at various venues and his work recently featured as a huge vinyl print on one of the shop fronts in Weaver Square in Northwich.
This exhibition is part of the Northwich Townscape Heritage Project, which focuses on funding improvements to some of the unique traditional timber-framed buildings in Witton Street and High Street. The Project also promotes the heritage and history of the buildings to residents, visitors and businesses.
