The reindeer, steam engines and craft activities may be on hold this year, but we’re determined that our smallest visitors will still enjoy some of the magic of Christmas. Our Christmas event will be different from previous years but it’ll still be as sparkly! Pure white salt crystals were the final product of the open-pan salt-making that took place here at the Salt Works, so a sparkling Crystal Trail is the perfect match for this historic site.
The Crystal Trail runs through the Lion Salt Works’ Museum’s atmospheric rooms and the first 100 children who follow the trail will receive a free gift when they get to the end.
At sunset on Saturday 12 December, the giant wall of Pan House 5 will be illuminated with pictures of snow scenes, salt crystals and pictures of Father Christmas at the Lion Salt Works.
Hot drinks will be available to purchase and the Museum’s shop will be selling a variety of gifts, suitable for those hard-to-buy-for relatives (as well as easy-to-buy-for relatives who like salt).
We look forward to warmly welcoming you!
Free of charge, but normal museum charges apply. Parking on site is free. Due to social distancing guidelines, visitors must book their visit in advance. Bookings can be made by calling 01606 275066.
