Little Leigh and Jabez Thomson

1 May - 15 July

The church at Little Leigh, about three miles from Lion Salt Works, was built in 1878 from bricks, tiles and decorative friezes manufactured in Northwich by the firm of Jabez Thompson. The exhibition explores the mystery of the reredos of the Last Supper, which shows an upturned salt cellar with salt spilled on the table, hinting at a connection with the local Cheshire salt industry. This community-led exhibition explores the links between brick works, decorative art, and the Lion Salt Works.

Little Leigh Church will be open 11am-4pm every Saturday from 12 May – 14 July.
