Museum open from 1pm, performances 1.30-2.30pm & 3.30-4.30pm. No extra charge.

Written by Rob Johnston and performed by Emma Romy-Jones, Dark Satanic tells the story of a farmer’s wife in the north of England who is left alone to tend a small farm when her husband goes to work in a Manchester factory during the Industrial Revolution. This one-woman drama explores the challenges faced by working women during the rapid industrialisation of early 19th-century England, celebrating the achievement of women in successfully navigating a world run mostly by men.
